This tripod is exactly what I expected, great, very good price.

Fast delivery from Amazon as always

5 Stars Worth the Money
This tripod was cheaper then the others that I priced. So I was a little hesitant about the quality. But when I got it, I’m very pleased with it. I’m glad that I didn’t buy the more expensive tripods. This one is just as good.

5 Stars A must have for cooking over an open fire.
If you cook in pots over open fires this item is a must have. It’s sturdy construction and adjustable chain heights make it perfect for using even your largest cast iron pot.

5 Stars Very satisfied
I was Very satisfied with my purchase, I received it in a timely manner and it was a great price.

5 Stars Great book!
I ordered this book for my Dad only to find he already owned it. When I received it I refused the order and Amazon still charged me shipping, even after I called within hours of my order to cancel and they could not help me. BUt I would recommend this book if you are looking for some good trail food?

5 Stars This Book Will Not Disappoint!
My S/O and I took our first serious back-country trip in more than 15 years last week. We relied completely on this book for meal planning and food preparation. We were not disappointed. The recipes are all written in clear language, and are easy to follow. Packable trail instructions are available on-line, which helps with cooking in remote campsites. Of course, we could not try every single recipe — but here are some of the best ones we tried. We had Olympus Oatmeal for breakfast every day. The Brunswick Stew was excellent, although it took a long time and lots of fuel to rehydrate the dried beans. The Vegan Super Hero Burritos were our favorite. The Whole-Food Granola Bars and Horse Thief GORP (we used unsweetened chocolate chips instead of carob chips) saw us through some long days of paddling and hiking. Our favorite snacks were the Energy Balls. We fought over the last one of those! I would warn others that many of the recipes call for prepackaged foods, such as Zatarain’s Red Beans and Rice. People with specific health concerns should check the contents of these items before they use them. Fortunately, Zatarain’s makes a low-sodium version of Red Beans and Rice, which we used. Otherwise, this is an excellent book. You can truly trust the recipes. I recommend it highly.

5 Stars Great for at Home, Too!
This is such a good book, not only for vegetarian trail food, but for at-home cooking as well. Simple instructions, common ingredients, quick and easy preparation - not to mention great taste!

Highly recommended!

5 Stars Lipsmackin’ Vegetarian Backpackin’
I stumbled upon this book while perusing other vegetarian titles and must say the Connors’ title immediately grabbed me. “Lipsmackin’ Vegetarian Backpackin’” — makes you want to read the book and recommend it to someone, just so you can mouth those toothsome words! Obviously, a healthful lifestyle and thoughtful approach to diet have served the authors’ intellectual capacities well, everything about the book is smart. The recipes are mostly contributed, apparently by friends the Connors’ have made on and around trails, and the recipe titles are sometimes almost as clever as the book’s title; more importantly, the recipes look simple and delicious (at this writing I haven’t tried them), and their presentation is smartly organized. Nutritional information is included. For its niche audience, be they vegan, lacto-ovo vegetarian, or ready-to-improve omnivore, this book has got to be as good as it gets.

5 Stars Great cook book
This book is full of quick and easy recipes that taste good. My family used recipes from this book on a 9-day road trip and saved a ton of cash by not eating out every day. The easy clean up and little need for cooking equip make this a great camping cook book.

5 Stars Great Buy!
I love THIS trash can! And never thought I’d say that about a trash can. Anyhow, it is super durable, easy to change the bags, easy to keep looking great, and a great solution for tight fight spaces for a can. It may be a bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth every penny.

5 Stars Legit Trashcan
First review I’ve ever made on Amazon actually. That should speak volumes to how crucial this TC is.

I’ll keep it short: This trashcan is legit. Sturdy and nice looking. The foot-opening mechanism is smooth as butter. The butterfly opening was perfect for my kitchen setup because I didn’t have room for a can which would open the lid behind itself. I also have no idea what the earlier guy who reviewed this can was talking about with the bags. Standard 13 gallon GLAD drawstring bags fit snug in the liner. I’ve yet to find anything wrong with this trashcan yet but if I do I’ll update this review. Assume if you don’t see an update that I’m still satisfied.

3 Stars The can is great, but its an odd size to find bags for
I agree that these cans are beautiful, well made, and they operate flawlessly exactly like the other reviewers state.

The issue I have is that standard kitchen trash bags are 13 gallons big. Using a 13 gallon bag in this 10 gallon can is difficult. The bags are about a foot too big around the rim circumference which leaves a great amount of sloppy excess bag to stuff into the little hole in the bin near the top for that purpose.

Ten gallon waste basket bags are too small for this 10 gallon can, they don’t quite reach the bottom of the can. The “Simple Human” 10 gallon bags are costly, about 50 cents each bag with shipping. Maybe that’s not too costly for a family that can afford to pay about $190 for a kitchen trash receptacle, but to me the cost of the bags is outrageous. Also, the recommended “Simply Human” bags, type “H”, included as a simple with the can, fit too well. They are extremely tight around the rim, very difficult to get on or off.

It wasn’t obvious to me in the Costco on-line site that this can wasn’t a standard size. Even though we paid about 1/4 of the Amazon price for the cans, I’m sorry we bought them. I’d gladly trade them for any decent standard size 13 gallon kitchen step can.

5 Stars A Great Trashcan
I would have never believed that an expensive (more than $10) trash can would be worth it - after all it just needs to hold the trash. But after waking up to find the dog tipping over the trash can and shredding the bags, we decided we needed a change. After some research and testing we found this trash can and have had it for the last few months and really appreciated it.

*This is a great trash can, that we think will be worth its price over the many years we plan to use it.

*It is heavy enough to not be tipped over, but easy to pick up and move when it is in our way.

*The plastic inside liner bin in a nice touch which makes cleanup easy while keeping the bag/liners out of sight.

*The opening is large enough for a gallon-sized milk container or a pizza box, so we no longer just stack those next to the trash can.

*The no-slamming controlled closing of the cover make it quiet and easy to use.

*The mechanism to open the doors is solid, responsive, and looks to be well made.

*The exterior & interior is easy to clean and keep looking sharp.

*Normal tall kitchen garbage bag liners fit well, saving on expensive trash can liners

*The lids can lock in the open position which makes it easy when we are cooking and need to dump lots of things, such as onion peels, chili stems, etc.

*The dog has tried and FAILED to get into the trash, tip the can over, or otherwise have an extra meal from the trash.

So, I know that this trash can is expensive, but I think it is will be a worthwhile investment for you and provide all the joy that a trash can could ever provide. It certainly eliminated many annoyances we had (and some we did not even realize we had) with our previous trash containments and not introduced any new ones. A clearly well thought out, well engineered product that should eventually be in every home!

5 Stars Well worth the price!
My husband and I saw this at a friends house, and loved the butterfly opening. We finally found the trashcan at Target and were somewhat surprised at the cost, but decided to buy anyway. A year later, we still love it. It is very easy to use, and the inner tray makes removing the trash very easy and mess free. The lid always closes (unlike the flip up lids that remain stuck open on other models). Great odor control and ease of use. I suggest using the Simple Human trash liner bags “H” as they fit perfectly. These can be ordered from the company or purchased at stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens-n-Things, etc.

The stainless steel is easy to clean and complements the kitchen nicely. A great improvement over the plastic trash cans of the past!

The Lee Bros Southern Cookbook Stories and Recipes for Southerners and Would be Southerners

Book Description:
From Matt Lee and Ted Lee, the New York Times food writers who defended lard and demystified gumbo comes a collection of exceptional southern recipes for everyday cooks. The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook tells the story of the brothers’ culinary coming-of-age in Charleston–how they triumphed over their northern roots and learned to cook southern without a southern grandmother. Here are recipes for classics like Fried Chicken, Crab Cakes, and Pecan Pie, as well as little-known preparations such as St. Cecilia Punch, Pickled Peaches, and Shrimp Burgers. Others bear the hallmark of the brothers’ resourceful cooking style—simple, sophisticated dishes like Blackened Potato Salad, Saigon Hoppin’ John, and Buttermilk-Sweet Potato Pie that usher southern cooking into the twenty-first century without losing sight of its roots. With helpful sourcing and substitution tips, this is a practical and personal guide that will have readers cooking southern tonight, wherever they live.

Amazon.com Exclusive: “A Night in Louisville” by Matt Lee and Ted Lee
On a clear, brisk February afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, in the asphalt parking lot of Lynn’s Paradise Cafe, we started a fire. All it took to get going was some wadded-up newspaper, a small pyramid of charcoal, and a match. To keep the flame alive, we put our cheeks to the chilly pavement and blew on the bottom layer of coals. Diners leaving the cafe from early dinners glanced at us, chuckled nervously, and hurried along to their cars. When the pile was glowing, we added some split logs and the plume of smoke rising from the pavement became woodsy and fragrant. By the time the sun went down, the flames were hotter and brighter, so we added more oak. Once the fire was roaring, customers in the restaurant became concerned, and the chef, Sarah, in clogs and a kerchief, shuffled out with the buttoned-up manager, Lori, to check on us.

Praise for The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook

“The Lee Bros. have written the classic Southern cookbook. They write with flair, brilliance, and hilarious commentary on the recipes, customs, and eccentricities of the South they celebrate with such passion. Their recipes are so good that I believe cookbook writers like the Lee Bros. may turn Southern cooking into an actual cuisine.” –Pat Conroy, author of The Prince of Tides

“I’m a bag fan of that particular brand of Southern poetry and smarts that make up the Lee Bros.’ contributions–the best food pieces I read in the Wednesday New York Times each week–so I attacked Matt and Ted’s new book like a hungry wolf. I found the same genius and eye for a good story, as well as simple-to-make recipes of the new exotic cooking of the American South. These recipes make my mouth water, and the prose makes my eyes well up for its beauty, simplicity, and truth.” –Mario Batali, chef/owner, Babbo restaurant

“These guys can cook! Just reading the recipes makes me ravenous for scintillating Southern dishes. Sign me up for Tuesday Fried Chicken and Sweet Potato Buttermilk Pie!” –Bobby Flay, chef/owner, Mesa Grill, BOLO, and Bar Americain

“The brothers Lee chronicle a South unbound by geography. They celebrate a people loosed from the burden of history but still mindful of the ties that bind. In the Lee South, boiled peanuts and edamame play well together. So do black and white, young and old, native and outlander. You’ll feel welcome here.” –John T. Edge, author of Southern Belly: the Ultimate Food Lover’s Companion to the South

“The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook makes me daydream of a long ago summer on a Pawleys Island back porch, the aroma of the marsh and the dinner table mingling with laughter of many generations of families and a few too many glasses of wine. Oh to the magic of being at table together in the South.” –Frank Stitt, author of Frank Stitt’s Southern Table

“The wit and enthusiasm of the Lee Bros. is irresistible, as are the recipes–a mix of traditional Southern classics and unique, highly individual creations–which will have you reaching for your cast- iron (or stainless steel) skillet.” –Scott Peacock, author of The Gift of Southern Cooking

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook
This is a great cookbook for directions and traditional recipes of the South. It is especially useful for those who grew up dining on these great foods but never quite learned to reproduce. I have found it to be a valuable tool in my job as I often field food preparation questions.

Thanks

5 Stars I love this cookbook
Whenever I feel homesick, the Lee Bros’ cookbook is one of the first places I turn. Certainly not the definitive Southern cookbook, but it strikes a balance between modernity and tradition in a way that seems natural. The recipes I have tested so far have all been hits and, while labor intensive, are accessible enough for a novice like myself. I’ve considered buying an ice cream maker just to try the boiled peanut and sorghum swirl ice cream.

5 Stars Southern tradition with a twist
Plenty of variety for the bored southern chef. Definitely try out the shrimp burgers!

5 Stars You Won’t be Disappointed in this Cookbook
I have cooked many many recipes from this cookbook and have found the recipes to be wonderfully written. Matt and Ted Lee were gracious enough to come to my tiny town and speak for a charity luncheon. I prepared a meal for 250 from this cookbook. We served Boiled Peanuts, Chicken and Sweet Potato-Orange Dumplings, Succotash Salad, Pan Fried Grouper with a Granny Smith Apple and Green Tomato Pan Gravy over Lemon Grits, Butternut Squash Casserole, Corn Muffins with Sorghum Butter and Fig Preserve and Black Walnut Cake with a Hard Rum Sauce. Everything was FABULOUS! I cooked tons of other stuff from the cookbook while planning the menu. It was all wonderful! In fact, I’d buy the cookbook just for the blackeded potato salad…it’s oh so yummy!

5 Stars Perfect!
This is the grandaddy of southern cookbooks. I have many but this is what I have been looking for.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Poor Controller design
The temperature control on this grill is poorly desigmed and will overheat and melt the controller and all of the insulation off of the wiring. Check other reviews and look at the pattern. If you bought one of these more than a couple of years ago and are thinking of replacing it go to a brick and mortar store and look at the current model. It looks like the finish was applied with a slingshot. Save your money and look at other brands of electric grills. There are better ones available right here on Amazon.

5 Stars Keep your basting sauce and fire extinguisher nearby
If you live in an apartment or condo, chances are you will need to use an electric grill for cooking out unless you want to move away from your building. I’m on a second floor, have a balcony, and have successfully used this Char-Broil Patio Caddie Electric Grill with pleasure. I’ll write first about a few safety features.

This thing gets hot and that’s what is expected from an appliance that is meant for cooking. Think about how hot the power cord on your toaster oven becomes if you cook in it for longer than a few minutes. The same principle holds true for this larger appliance, so be sure you either plug into a heavy duty outlet or use a heavy duty power strip. No little thin extension cords like you’d use for your desk light for this one. Secondly, keep it clean inside and out. Residual grease and dirt will likely find itself ablaze and this brings us to the next hint. Always keep a fire extinguisher nearby. The only time I got to use one of mine was when we’d neglected to clean off the grill and cooked something dripping with oil, forgetting how this thing worked. Ruined the food and needed to get replacement foil liners, but the grill survived and after a good cleaning, nobody could tell it had been through a near death experience. Although it’s easy to forget, always empty the little drainage cup so you’re not attracting critters you don’t want to cook or have multiply. Lastly, if you invest in a protective cover, you can keep your grill cleaner for longer periods of time and increase its life. Just be sure you don’t put it on until the grill is cool and is clean.

As for the cooking, because this uses a sort of lava rock system on the bottom, you get the feel that you’re cooking over charcoal. It is not charcoal, so do NOT use charcoal because you do NOT want fires, but rather simply heat. Just like the Farberware rotiserries of years past, you use an electric heating element, not flames for your kabobs. I replace the bricks every few months if I’m using the grill because the fresher ones impart a sort of flavor in the foods. Bottom line is that you want the heating elements to cook your foods, not fire or flames. Think of your kitchen electric stove — you don’t want flames to develop near the heating elements or you’re likely to lose at least the stove, maybe more.

The grill is easy to assemble and gave me an evening of fun. There were no surprises included in the box and no interpreter was needed to translate the directions. All parts were included in my carton. I like the blue color and it’s still looking new after several years.

I use my grill for vegetables, veggie burgers and sausages, and fish. For these purposes it is absolutely great. Guests have brought over meat products and it’s cooked those well, too. The lid fits really well on top of the base and the temperature gauge is still accurate. The grill is housed on my balcony under its Weber Grill cover but the electric component is kept inside and away from the elements. I expect this will prove many more meals and look forward to grilling tonight.

3 Stars Works great but liner didn’t fit
Char-Broil Patio Caddie Electric Grill

This is our 2nd grill and we really like it, especially since you can bbq quickly. But, the grill comes in a large package and requires handyman skill to put together. In addition, the aluminum liner for the top of the grill did not fit. Luckily, we were able to find parts in our garage so that the liner would fit. If my husband wasn’t handy, we would have had to return it.

1 Star PIECE OF GARBAGE!!
Less than a year after purchase, this awful product overheated and melted one of the steel prongs to ash, also melting through the plastic on the temperature control unit and essentially destroying the whole product. Could easily have caused a fire if I hadn’t been watching and noticed the grill wasn’t cooking properly (all of the power was being used to melt the steel and plastic connections!) Buyer beware - this is a total fire hazard and piece of poorly built garbage. less than 1 star…

2 Stars Problems with cooking element
I have purchased 3 of these grills. The first one we had was excellent. It was heavy duty and cooked very well with no problems in the components.

The second one we purchased works very well but is not as sturdy as the first one.

The third one was a lemon. The exterior was not very sturdy. I’ve had this grill about 2 years and have had to replace the cooking element two times. Have been very dissapointed in this last grill purchase.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Great product
Great indoor grill. Takes a while to heat up and cook but it is better then bq in the snow.

5 Stars Great Grill!!
This grill is great! I really like the nonstick surface it works well for the food and clean up is quick with soap and a washcloth. I like the ability to adjust the heat from low to high and everything in between even though I only seem to use high. It makes great grill marks also! I’m very happy with my choice!!

5 Stars Awesome Product
I purchased this after returning the Cusinart Grill. (Which was junk). I read the reviews on this grill on Amazon and decided to try it. It’s perfect, plus, my husband now does most of the cooking!

1 Star Too heavy for cleaning
The grill plate is removable which should be easy for cleaning, but the weight of the grill plate is too heavy. It is very hard to hold and clean at the same time. I ordered the grill and returned it the next day. I hope the manufacturer will put the easiness of cleaning as a priority, then they will have a better product.

I have one wonderful grill machine from Black & Decker that I bought several years ago. It is so easy to take out and clean. Unfortunately, Black & Decker did not continue the same model. The new Black & Decker model is of very cheap quality. The paint job is not even and the non-stick coating is also bad. I do not suggest people buy the new Black & Decker indoor grill machine.

5 Stars Finally, a countertop grill I like
I have bought and returned three other models for the same reason: they don’t get hot enough.

The Zojirushi gets hot enough that I can satisfactorily grill meat. For everything else — vegetables, seafood, fish — you actually have to lower the thermostat to medium or medium high. That is remarkable, considering that other types I tried had to be on high, and often that still wasn’t hot enough.

I put water in the catch tray, and the smoke is minimal cleaning is rather easy too.

I wish I could have an outdoor grill, but in a Manhattan apartment, that isn’t happening. This is probably the best I can get.

5 Stars Great barbeque
This is a great barbeque and Amazon’s price (at least when I bought mine) blew everyone else’s away.

5 Stars A great addition to the grill!
This is a great addition to the grill. Easy to use and worth the money.

5 Stars Great addition to my grill
I love the rotisserie. I have used it a number of times already, and am very happy with the results. I can recommend it without reservation.

5 Stars Meat magic!
Bought this rotisserie for my hubby for Father’s Day - but it was a gift for the entire family! Chickens turn out moist and delicious, pork roasts are fantastic. Our teenagers have actually been known to change their plans based on what nights we are cooking with the rotisserie! Is there any better praise than that?

Weber 2005 Model 841001 22 1 2 Inch Performer Charcoal Grill With Touch and Go Propane Ignition

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars this is a great grill
this grill is the best of both worlds. it combines the flavor of charcoal and the ease of gas. the side table is very sturdy. now i dont have to use charcoal lighter any more which makes your food taste funny. the assembly was very easy, weber has idiot proofed the instructions.

5 Stars Charcoal grill
I purchased this grill after seeing it and registering for it at Target for my wedding. When we didn’t receive it as a gift, we were going to purchase it, but it cost $340 for the grill and about $250 for shipping from Target. I searched for it on amazon and got free shipping and save on the cost by $40 plus tax. We love the grill and its design.

5 Stars Performer Eazzz
Fully portable in the backyard, unlike the tripod type. The working area table is just the touch one looks for in a true charcoal grill that is not available with other model charcoal burners. The added convenience and clean burning startup gas adapter provides a pure charcoal taste with no petro-chemical taste effect. Add the charcoal bag holder temp guage and you have a great package without having to go to a gas grill.

5 Stars The best Weber charcoal grill out there!
This is an AMAZING charcoal grill! It takes the work out of cooking with coal by incorporating a propane ignition system. You simply put the coal in, press a button, and let it go for a few minutes until the coals are lit!

The classic Weber kettle style grill has a proven track record for fantastic and very versatile outdoor cooking. The added convenience of propane ignition, ash catcher, work surface, and stow-away coal bin make this a sure winner!

While a bit pricey, the quality of this grill should provide a lifetime of use if properly cared for.

5 Stars Couldn’t live without it
This grill has changed how we enjoy our patio and grilling. Putting together took some time but now that I’ve been using it for 8 months, I can say I couldn’t live without it. It makes grilling so easy and everything works as advertised. I highly recommend it.

5 Stars Weber’s Big Book of Grilling
This book has everything a griller could need. The layout is easy to read and the pictures/illustrations are very helpful. There’s several sections for beginners, from learning how many coals to use on a charcoal grill to how long to cook different vegetables, even charts that layout what part of a cow/chicken/etc. your cuts of meat come from. The recipes are great, and the section of recipes for marinades/rubs has a lot to choose from. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys grilling or is learning how.

    5 Stars Good buy
I love this book! It’s very interesting! Come with good recipes and techniques! If your looking for a grilling book I really suggest this one! You’ll be amaze of all the recipes it comes with and its has a good assortment of them.

1 Star Book great, Amazon sucks!!
I have the WORST time ordering on Amazon.com. I ended up with two of these cookbooks (one new and one used). That was after I was told they were out of stock/unavailable. I DON’T want to pay to ship it back!! I have ordered from Amazon.com before and had problems. I will avoid this website in the future!

5 Stars Suitable as a Coffee Table Book!
This is not only a great book of recipes, but the high quality paper and the beautiful pictures make this a perfect coffee table book. Leaf through it when you have a few minutes to get inspired for the next grilled meal.

I cook for myself and I like to keep things simple. When I see interesting recipes that list two or three ingredients that I know I would never have at the same time, I cease to consider making that meal. Most recipes in this book list fairly basic ingredients that most kitchens would have on hand.

The author doesn’t just use terms for techniques that many more experienced cooks would know, but gives a little detail on how to do the procedure for the novice. Besides the recipes, many topics on basics are covered in the front of the book. Humor is used on occasion, which can lighten the mood for the harried grill-master with hungry guests to feed.

I liked this book so much, I purchased two more for friends who don’t eat to live, but live to eat.

5 Stars Weber’s Big Book Of Grilling
This is a great guide to a first time owner of a Weber Grill. The recipes are easy to make and the tips and anecdotle information are great!!!

    User Ratings and Reviews

    5 Stars Perfect Replacement Parts
Finding the correct Weber grill replacement parts is easy on Amazon. These were exactly what we needed - our grill is like new again and the price was lower than anyone else!

4 Stars Good but stainless is better
I had these flavorizer bars for years on a Weber. Since 2002 I have gone through two sets. Both times they ended up disintegrating. These work well in helping to reduce flare ups, adding the creation of smoke from dripping juices to add more flavor, and help protect your burners from getting clogged up. The only downside is that the porcelain coating comes off after a few years which will lead to massive rust problems and you will need to replace them.

Tired of that I finally upgraded to the stainless bars which perform just as well but they don’t rust. Save yourself a few bucks later by spending a little more if you can afford spending the extra $10-$15 on the stainless bars.

    5 Stars New grill
I love my NEW grill because my new bars make it taste so MUCH better

    5 Stars Terrfic Deal
My Weber grill is coming up on 6 years old and the flavorizer bars were disintegrating so I decided to look for replacements. These are exactly the same as the originals - and half the price listed on Weber’s site. I gave the cooking grate and grill a good cleaning and it is like I have a new grill - I am thrilled!! My brother had gotten the stainless steel grates for his Weber so that may be my next purchase in the spring! Can not go wrong with these bars - just be sure you get the correct ones for your model grill - doing my research, I noticed that there were different sizes.

    4 Stars not the stainless
Opted for the cheaper one’s that rust. I figure by the time I need to replace them, my grill will be a visual mess anyhow.
